Cardiac rehabillitation (Phase IV)

Steve Shaw the cardiac rehabilitation instructor said, "Its great to see the cardiac patients utilising all we have to offer at the centre. We run a three week rotation programme including activities such as Indoor cycling, gym and circuits. The improvements in their health and fitness we are seeing are incredible.Well done to the cardiac patients for their effort and continuing commitment to the programme".

Exercise Referral

The Exercise Referral Scheme is an introduction to physical activity scheme, which enables GP's and other health professionals to recommend a course of clients who would benefit from taking regular exercise.

It entitles you to join a 20-session activity programme at one of East Riding of Yorkshire Councils sports and Leisure Centre's. Throughout which you will have the help and guidance of a specially qualified exercise professional.

Why Should I Exercise

Most people would agree that regular physical activity is good for you, but the majority of us don't do enough exercise to improve our health.Physical inactivity is equally as important as smoking cigarettes and eating an unhealthy diet in contributing to chronic diseases. Adults who are physically active have a 20-30% reduced risk of premature death, and up to 50% reduced risk of developing major chronic diseases such as heart disease.

What Are The Benefits Of Exercise

Taking regular exercise can help to protect you against heart disease,help you with weight loss, increase your strengh,help you to feel more energetic,promote stress relief,increase well being and is an excellent way of making new friends.

How Do I Join

If you require further information about the Exercise Referral Scheme,ask your GP, practice nurse or health professional.If you are referred onto the scheme, you will be contacted by the exercise referral instructor to arrange your first session.
